The wish to become a professional musician already developed with Anna Zumsteg in her childhood, and thus she studied Jazz Piano at the Lucerne School of Music with her teachers being Jean-Paul Brodbeck, Hans Feigenwinter and Christoph Baumann. In 2006, she received her Master in Music Pedagogy and since then teaches lessons in piano and keyboard.

As a pianist and keyboarder she is involved in stylistically different projects. She accompanies singers and choirs, is keyboarder and sound designer in bands or solo performer of her own compositions.

As a composer Anna Zumsteg is fascinated by combining odd meters, the effects of tone colors and sound effects, inventing melody patterns with small rhythmical unevennesses. At this, she is interested to find her own musical language and to enhance already approved composition concepts.

Musically important inputs for Anna Zumsteg were, amongst others, the complete Tonus Music Records Material, Don Li, Steve Reich, Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto, Nik Bärtsch, Peter Scherer, Tricky, Aphex Twin, Prince, Archive, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Minus 8, Pole, Photek, Portishead, Massive Attack, Jan Jelinek, Jon Hassel, Quiet Personal Electronics.

The music of Anna Zumsteg is inspired by life itself and the manifold artistic creations of people.
